Frew Development Group was the developer for this renovation at Westdale Mall in Cedar Rapids, IA. The FDG team oversaw all elements of the complex renovation, including tenant lease negotiation, deal structuring, financing, design, construction, accounting, contract compliance and delivery to tenant. Westdale redevelopment plans called for JCP to become a free-standing building. Renovations included: research of wind load capabilities and frost footings for the design and construction of walls to serve as new exterior walls at the previous entrances to the mall common area on two separate levels, demo of the enclosed mall from the JCP building, demo of the 11,000sf former JCP Tire and Battery Center as well as exterior façade renovations including four new entrances, and site and parking lot renovations.
